It is always installed in pairs, securely clamping an orifice plate between them. Core Function & Working Principle The primary function is to create a calibrated restriction (the orifice plate) in the flow path. As fluid (liquid or gas) passes through the plate's precision-bored hole: Flow Restriction: The fluid accelerates through the smaller opening.Pressure Drop: A measurable pressure difference occurs, with higher pressure upstream and lower pressure downstream.Flow Calculation: Built-in pressure taps on the flanges connect to a differential pressure (DP) transmitter. Using Bernoulli's principle, the DP is converted into an accurate flow rate.
